5 Telugu Movies on Amazon Prime to get you through the week

I don't know about you people but then some weeks keep dragging on for forever. Especially during this pandemic. Isn't it ? You eagerly wait for the weekend to come to let your hair down and go wild. But then, it's a crime to live only for weekends, right? What about the rest of the week? They too deserve to be enjoyed. Therefore we have picked out a few movies to get you through the week and help you live even during the week.

Starring - Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, Samantha Akkineni, Divyansha Kaushik, Posani Krishna

Genre - Drama/Romance

Some films strongest suit is its casting and this holds good for Majili. This movie is special for Samantha and Naga Chaitanya as it is their first movie as a married couple. And they play a married couple in this one too!! Majili tells the story of a jobless man not wishing to come to terms with his past and his wife who slogs away to make ends meet and also to make their marriage work. Naga Chaitanya is good as the guy who is always brooding. Samantha is fabulous as the wife who seeks out her husband's love and how she pulls out her husband from the downward spiral that is his creation. See this one for the chemistry between the two.

Starring - Nani, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Lakshmi, Saranya Ponnavan, Karthikeya

Genre - Revenge Comedy

Nani's Gangleader is a revenge drama with a sprinkling of mythological subtexts thrown in. The best part: the subtext is flipped over completely and it is a hilariously wicked one at that. It's a story of 5 ladies (of different age groups) on the search for bestselling crime novel writer, Pencil Parthasarathy. Their group called the Revengers is an absolute hoot. Pencil's antics with the ladies make it a real fun watch. Watch out for the interval shot. It's sheer brilliance. If you don't get the subtexts, I will be heartbroken. Really.

Arjun Reddy

Starring - Vijay Deverakonda, Shalini Pandey, Rahul Ramakrishna

Genre - Drama

2 successful remakes. Numerous awards. The birth of a star. A cult like following . Need I say more? Arjun Reddy is not just a story about love, it is also a story about friendship. Yes, the movie is about Arjun and Shiva as much as it is about Arjun and Preeti. Bravura performances all around. And the music? Top class. Go and watch it already.

Brochevaru Evaruraa

Starring - Sree Vishnu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadarshi, Nivetha Thomas, Satyadev, Nivetha Pethuraj

Genre - Comedy Thriller

An aspiring director. A bunch of slacking students. A staged kidnapping. A girl named Subba Rao. All these elements combine to give us a thoroughly enjoyable movie. Begins off as a comedy and then turns seamlessly into a thriller, Brochevaru Evaruaraa will keep your eyes peeled to the screen. Terrific actors and terrific performances all around.

Starring - Ram Charan Tej, Samantha Akkineni, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Anasauya, Aadhi Pinisetty

Genre - Drama

The movie that has showcased Ram Charan's acting abilities to the best, Rangasthalam changed our idea of the idyllic Konaseema village. Mysterious deaths in the village and a God-like village President point to something more sinister. Everyone played their patra (role) well but Rangammatha (Anasuya ) was a revelation. Watch out for the lantern fight in between the fields. Simply superb from Sukumar.

Well, I hope this will be enough to get you through the week. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did. See you next week then.
